IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO ACQUIRE 10 ACRES FOR LARGE-SCALE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Ikorodu Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, has announced plans to acquire 10 acres of land in Epe, Lagos State, for large-scale agricultural production.

The initiative aims to create employment opportunities and promote the affordable sale of food products in Ikorodu.

Chairman Adesina made this statement on June 28, 2024, during the launch of a new waste recycling hub project at Ojogbe bus stop in Ikorodu.

The land in Epe will be utilized for various agricultural practices, contributing to the local economy and addressing food security challenges in the region.

“The acquisition of this land marks a significant step towards achieving food self-sufficiency and economic growth for Ikorodu.”

“By investing in agriculture, we aim to provide job opportunities and ensure that food products are sold at more affordable prices,”.

“The new agricultural project aligns with the local government’s broader efforts to improve living standards and stimulate sustainable development in the community,” Adesina added

Following the announcement, the chairman received commendations from leaders and stakeholders for his visionary approach to leadership, particularly in creating employment opportunities and promoting productivity.

Former Ikorodu council chairman,  Alhaji Junaid Owokodu, explained that the agricultural project is seen as pivotal in boosting the local economy and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

“We commend Chairman Adesina for his foresight and dedication to the community.”

“His efforts in agriculture and wealth creation management are setting a new standard for local governance,” Owokodu said
