On July 17, 2024, the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club organized the “Feeding the Hungry Project” under the power line Sabo axis at the back of the LowCost Housing Estate in Ikorodu.
The event took place from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., aiming to provide much-needed support to the local community.
It majorly underlines the vital role of community-driven efforts in addressing food insecurity and supporting vulnerable populations.
Led by Project/Service Chairperson Lion Aluko Kayode NLCF, the initiative saw the participation of nine Lions Club members and seven community volunteers.
Together, they served over 112 public members, ensuring that everyone received essential nourishment.
The event also included the distribution of special packages to community leaders in the area, demonstrating the club’s commitment to fostering community relationships and supporting local leadership.
Lion Aluko Kayode NLCF, who spearheaded the project, expressed his gratitude for the dedication and hard work of the Lions Club members and community volunteers.
“This project is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for a common cause.”
“The support from the community has been overwhelming, and we are proud to have made a positive impact,” he said.
The Feeding the Hungry Project not only provided immediate relief but also emphasized the importance of community solidarity and support.
Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club plans to continue such initiatives, aiming to reach even more people in need and inspire other organizations to take similar actions.
“Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club remains committed to its mission of service, hoping to make a lasting difference in the lives of those they serve” Lion Aluko asserted.
