Moving to bolster the local creative industry, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina has announced plans to commence a specialized training program for 100 aspiring fashion designers.
The program, set to begin on Thursday, July 25, 2024, aims to provide 100 aspiring designers and practice tailors with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their field.
The initiative underscores the local government’s commitment to empowering residents through skill development and capacity building.
According to Chairman Adesina, the training will cover a range of topics designed to help participants thrive in the competitive fashion industry.
“This program will offer numerous opportunities for aspiring fashion designers and even practising tailors to enhance their skills, innovate, and grow their businesses,” he stated.
The comprehensive training will include workshops on modern design techniques, fabric selection, tailoring skills, and business management.
Participants will also learn about the latest trends in the fashion industry and how to leverage technology to expand their reach and efficiency.
One of the program’s highlights is the empowerment of successful 20 participants.
He called on residents to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by the training program and encouraged them to participate actively.
