In a recent interactive session with the Community Development Committee (CDC) at Ikorodu Local Government Council Secretariat, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, called on residents to remain vigilant and report any unfamiliar individuals to the nearest law enforcement agency.
This appeal comes as part of a broader initiative to bolster community safety and prevent potential security threats.
During the meeting, Adesina emphasized the importance of understanding the intentions of strangers in the community to avoid unexpected security issues.
He stated, “It is better to know the mission of any stranger around our communities before we get the element of surprise from them one day.”
Adesina explained a recent incident involving approximately 50 individuals who were apprehended in Mowokekere community and subsequently taken to Alagbon Police Station for profiling.
The individuals who lacked proper identification documents had gathered early in the morning and were speaking in an unfamiliar language, with their own translator present.
“The goal of this action is not to harm anyone but to ensure that we are informed about their intentions. It’s crucial for us to involve law enforcement for security purposes,” Adesina explained.
The Chairman explained that this approach aims to ensure that any unusual activities or individuals are reported and investigated promptly, contributing to the overall safety and well-being of Ikorodu communities.
