Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club has taken a significant step towards youth empowerment by presenting start-up gifts to youths in commemoration of World Youth Day.
The club organized a comprehensive three-week training program for youths, which culminated in a grand finale at the Adeboruwa’s Palace on the 29th of August, 2024.
The training program was designed to equip youths with practical skills across nine different specialities, including barbing, hairdressing, home essentials, tie and dye, tailoring, baking, organic products, catering and more.
With the involvement of 100 dedicated volunteers, the program successfully trained 500 beneficiaries, providing them with essential skills to foster their personal and professional growth.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), the club’s president, Lion Princess Adetutu Banjoko, explained the importance of the program in fostering youth development and societal advancement.
She emphasized that the best five youths in each of the nine specialties were selected to receive start-up empowerment gifts, tailored to help them kickstart their careers and businesses.
“The start-up empowerment gifts are designed to help the beneficiaries launch the skills they’ve acquired. We trust they will seize this opportunity to become positive agents of societal change,” said Lion Princess Adetutu Banjoko, conveying her optimism for their future achievements.
The event saw a vibrant gathering of dignitaries and community members.
Present at the event were the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Lion (Bldr) Olusesan Daini, Region Chairperson, Lion Mrs. Adefunke Oluranti Esan, Zone Chairperson, Lion Oluwakemi Ogunsanya, as well as members of both the Igbogbo Platinum Leos Club and the Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club.

Furthermore, the beneficiaries expressed their sincere gratitude to the club for giving them the opportunity to gain valuable skills and knowledge.
