The prestigious facility, which has empowered over 8,400 constituents—primarily youths—offers a range of digital and technological skills development programs such as Tech Talent Development, Data Science, and the Teachers’ Fellowship Program.

Prince Olusi, an elder statesman and respected political figure, expressed deep admiration for the achievements of the Innovation Lab.

He highlighted how the facility has not only provided training but also facilitated decent employment opportunities for hundreds of beneficiaries across the Lagos East Senatorial District.

He lauded the vision and leadership of the Lab’s co-founders, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru and his wife, Mrs. Feyisola Abiru, commending their dedication to uplifting youth through innovative solutions.

Accompanied by fellow GAC members and political leaders from Ikorodu Division, Prince Olusi emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to unlock the potential of Nigeria’s youth.

He acknowledged the transformative role of digital skills and innovation in shaping the country’s future.

During the tour, Prince Olusi also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for encouraging Senator Abiru to transition from the corporate sector to politics, where he has applied his extensive experience to public service.

“The Senator has justified the trust placed in him,” Olusi remarked, citing the positive impact of Abiru’s leadership on the community.

Reflecting on the significance of the SAIL Innovation Lab, Prince Olusi stated, “This facility is an excellent model of how property can be utilized for the education and developmental training of our youth, who are the future leaders of Nigeria. They will play a crucial role in driving the economic growth of the nation.”

In his response, Senator Abiru reiterated the Lab’s mission. “Beyond the infrastructure we have built, we invite accomplished individuals here not only to observe our work but to inspire our participants,” he said.

“We are committed to upskilling our young people, as they are a key resource for the nation’s future.”

Among the dignitaries present was the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, who praised the facility as “remarkable, innovative, and impactful.”

Dr. Olasupo Olusi, Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, also emphasized the role of digital skills in driving national economic growth. “Studies consistently show that investment in the digital economy—particularly in skills and infrastructure—significantly boosts economic development. The SAIL Innovation Lab is indeed an asset to the nation,” Dr. Olusi remarked.

Senator Abiru expressed heartfelt appreciation to Prince Olusi and the GAC members present, including Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, and Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, for their support and encouragement.

He also acknowledged key leaders like Mr. Deji Abisola, Chief Impact Consultant of SAIL, and Dr. (Otunba) Saheed Ibikunle, whose involvement continues to motivate the Lab’s participants.

The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to harnessing the potential of Nigeria’s youth through education, innovation, and collaborative leadership.
