Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club organized a significant Pediatric Cancer Awareness event aimed at educating the public about the early signs and prevention of childhood cancer on the 10th of September 2024.
The program, held in a bid to contribute to the global fight against pediatric cancer, was marked by a well-received lecture delivered by intending Lion Alhaja Omoloye Halimat.
The lecture, which was described as “breathtaking” by attendees, shed light on the importance of early detection, proper diagnosis, and the available treatment options for pediatric cancer.
Alhaja Halimat’s insightful presentation emphasized the urgent need for increased awareness, particularly among parents and caregivers.
Her talk not only provided valuable information but also inspired a sense of hope and responsibility within the community.
During the event, over 180 informative flyers were distributed to participants and passersby, further spreading the message of cancer prevention and the critical role of early intervention.
Several prominent members of the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club were present to support the initiative, including the Club Charter President, Lion Akinosho David Peace JP NLCF, the Service Chairperson, Lion Kayode Aluko NLCF, Membership Chairperson Lion Alapafuja Fuad NLCF, and the Club Marketing and Communication Chairperson, Lion Adedokun Seyi.
The outreach was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the community and reinforcing the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club’s dedication to creating awareness about critical health issues affecting children.
