On September 26, 2024, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, inspected the ongoing construction of the 1,686-meter Itundegun/Ajina dual-sided drainage and road project.
During the inspection, he urged the council engineer (Mr Oladapo Oluseye) to expedite the work, ensuring it serves the local community efficiently without causing prolonged disruption to economic activities.
Hon. Adesina emphasized the importance of completing the project swiftly while balancing the need to minimize inconvenience to local businesses and residents.

He reassured the public that the project would be accelerated to limit any long-term disruption.
During his inspection, the chairman observed several residents conducting business atop the uncompleted drainage sections, a practice that could potentially hinder the progress of the project.
Hon. Adesina urged the residents to stop trading on the unfinished works, cautioning them that such activities could interfere with construction efforts.

He appealed to the residents to exercise patience, assuring them that the project would not be delayed unnecessarily.
He also reiterated that the road and drainage infrastructure, once completed, would significantly enhance the locality and benefit the entire community.

The ongoing Itundegun/Ajina dual-sided drainage and road construction is part of Hon. Adesina’s broader agenda to improve infrastructure within Ikorodu, aiming to provide better road connectivity, reduce flooding, and improve the overall living conditions of residents.
