Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, has expressed profound appreciation to Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, for his remarkable contributions to the development of Ikorodu Division.
According to Agabje, Rep. Benson’s recent initiatives in healthcare and road infrastructure have been described as pivotal to improving the lives of residents.
Dr. Agbaje highlighted Rep. Benson’s facilitation of the 40-bed Trauma Hospital Centre at Ikorodu General Hospital, which was flagged off on October 7, 2024.
The project, set to be completed within nine months, is expected to significantly enhance healthcare delivery in the area. Once operational, the centre will provide much-needed emergency medical services, ensuring that residents have access to high-quality care in critical situations.
In addition to the healthcare project, Rep. Benson was also commended for the completion of the 1.6km Lambo Lasunwo Road in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
This vital infrastructure improvement will ease transportation challenges, promote local commerce, and enhance connectivity within the community.
The completion of the road is seen as a clear demonstration of Rep. Benson’s commitment to addressing infrastructural deficits and fostering sustainable development in Ikorodu.
In his message to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Dr. Agbaje also took the opportunity to acknowledge the exemplary leadership of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, who presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Trauma Hospital Centre and the official commissioning of the Lambo Lasunwo Road.
Dr. Hamzat’s involvement in these events underscores the Lagos State Government’s dedication to improving the welfare of its citizens through strategic infrastructure investments.
“These two milestone projects will have a lasting impact on the lives of Ikorodu residents, improving healthcare access and transforming road infrastructure,” Dr. Agbaje noted.
He emphasized that these initiatives are part of a broader effort to ensure the continuous growth and development of Ikorodu, positioning it as a hub for progress within Lagos State.
Together, the efforts of Rep. Benson and the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, continue to drive Ikorodu’s advancement, fostering a better future for all its people.
Dr. Agbaje concluded by reiterating the Office of Rural Development’s commitment to working closely with all stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of ongoing projects and to identify further opportunities for development in the division.
