
At the grand finale of a school debate competition organized by Ikorodu Local Government on Wednesday the 9th of October 2024, Alhaja Rashidat Bello, the All Progressives Congress (APC) woman leader in Ikorodu Division, presented a specially commissioned portrait to the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.
The event organised in collaboration with Kaodwad and Associates, brought together students and dignitaries to celebrate educational excellence, was marked by this touching moment of recognition.
Alhaja Bello, who also serves as the head of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) in Ikorodu Local Government, offered the portrait as a gesture of appreciation for the First Lady’s ongoing efforts to support education and uplift the lives of young people in Lagos State.

The portrait presentation reflected Mrs. Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to her motherly role in fostering education, particularly through her advocacy for girl-child education and her role in several education-focused initiatives.
Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, receiving the portrait, expressed her gratitude for the thoughtful gift and commended the organizers of the school debate for nurturing critical thinking and public speaking skills among students.
The First Lady reiterated her commitment to supporting educational programs that promote intellectual growth and community development. Afterwards, she participated in a photo session with Alhaja Rashidat Bello and the WADESH Babes.

The school debate, a platform to encourage academic excellence and intellectual engagement among students, ended on a high note with the celebratory presentation.
