IKORODU LG CHAIRMAN, HON. WASIU ADESINA, WELCOMES LAGOS FIRST LADY, DR. CLAUDIANA IBIJOKE SANWO-OLU, AT 2024 DEBATE COMPETITION GRAND FINALE ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The grand finale of the highly anticipated 2024 Debate Competition is currently underway at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) in Ikorodu, attracting an impressive gathering of notable dignitaries and brilliant students from across the region.

Among the distinguished guests is Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State, who was warmly received by the Ikorodu Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adesina and his wife, Mrs. Abolanle Adesina, at this prestigious event.

The event, which has garnered attention from across the state, features four schools competing in the final round: Elepe Senior Grammar School, Ikorodu; Government Senior College, Owutu; Lagos State Model College, Igbokuta; and Ipakodo Senior Grammar School.

These schools have emerged as top contenders, and excitement fills the air as the students prepare to showcase their debating skills on critical societal issues.

As the debate progresses, the students will vie for the coveted 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions, with each school hoping to claim victory and bring pride to their communities.

The competition, known for its high standards and rigorous judging process, serves as a platform for young minds to enhance their public speaking abilities, critical thinking, and knowledge of contemporary issues.

Among the special guests in attendance are His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu; Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye; Alhaji Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa; Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency 1; Dr. Saheed Ibikunle, and others.

According to the chairman, the competition offers cash prizes and laptop donations.

The first-place winner will receive Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000) and a laptop, the second-place winner will receive Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000) and a laptop, while the third-place winner will receive Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) and a laptop.

As the competition unfolds, all eyes are on the students as they compete for the top spot, with hopes that their performances will inspire future generations to engage in intellectual pursuits.
