At the grand finale of the 2024 edition of the Ikorodu Division school Debate, the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu presented an Award of Excellence to Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government.
Kaodwad and Associates created the award to recognize Hon. Wasiu Adesina’s outstanding leadership and his significant contributions to advancing education in the division, especially through the debate competition.
The event, organized by Ikorodu Local Government in collaboration with Kaodwad and Associates, was designed to foster intellectual engagement among secondary school students in Ikorodu Division.
The debate aimed to boost the confidence of the participants and equip them with skills that would prepare them for the future.
During the award presentation, Mrs. Sanwo-Olu, in a jovial moment, requested to dance with Hon. Adesina and his wife, Mrs. Abonlanle Adesina, much to the delight of the audience.
The light-hearted gesture highlighted the celebratory atmosphere of the event.
In her presentation remarks, the First Lady emphasized the importance of the program for the young participants, stating, “This program will boost the children’s confidence and give them a future filled with promise. It will also help them contribute intellectually to orientation issues.”
She further lauded the efforts of Hon. Wasiu Adesina, saying, “Education is the most powerful weapon, and this event reflects that. I must applaud Hon. Wasiu Adesina for putting this event together to aid our students.”
The debate concluded with Elepe Senior Grammar School securing the 1st position, Government Senior Model College in 2nd place, and Ipakodo Senior Grammar School taking 3rd place.
