OSHODI ARTS GALLERY SET TO BECOME AFRICA’S LARGEST ART COLLECTION CENTRE BY 2025, CEO DR. OSHODI SEYI PAUL REVEALS EXPANSION PLANS ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Dr. Oshodi Seyi Paul, the visionary CEO of Oshodi Arts Gallery, has announced ambitious plans to position his gallery as the largest art collection center in Africa by 2025.

In a recent interview conducted by Prince Ganny Awobajo, Chief Editor of Ikorodu News, for the newly produced My Mentor’s Corner by INN-HOUSE, Dr. Oshodi detailed the gallery’s current status and its expansion strategies aimed at achieving this milestone.

Presently, Oshodi Arts Gallery is one of the biggest art galleries in Nigeria, housing an impressive collection of 18,500 artworks.

The gallery is home to 40 talented artists, covering a wide range of artistic disciplines.

According to Dr. Oshodi, the breakdown includes 7 painters, 4 ceramic artists, 6 textile artists, 8 sculptors, 14 animation artists, 9 photography artists, and 4 wood-carving specialists.

Dr. Oshodi emphasized the gallery’s ongoing expansion efforts, explaining that while the gallery is currently expanding in width, the infrastructure will soon rise to new heights.

“We are expanding by width presently, even though we will eventually heighten our structures. We have just one studio now, but our current expansion will give us five ultra-modern studios to accommodate more students and boost productivity,” he explained.

This growth is essential to support the gallery’s vision of housing around 55,000 artworks by the end of 2025, a significant leap that would cement Oshodi Arts Gallery as the largest art collection centre on the continent.

Dr. Oshodi believes that the current artists can produce three works each per month, and with the expansion, the gallery will have the capacity to accommodate up to 100 artists.

“Our expansion will not only increase our art collection but also foster a vibrant creative community,” Dr. Oshodi added, expressing confidence that this initiative would transform Oshodi Arts Gallery into a cultural beacon for art lovers across Africa and beyond.

With these bold moves, Oshodi Arts Gallery is set to not only maintain its leadership in the Nigerian art scene but also claim a place as a global hub for artistic expression by 2025.
