Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, has extended his profound gratitude to key figures who contributed to the success of the 2024 Ikorodu Division Inter-School Debate Competition for public secondary schools, held at the LASUSTECH Staff Cooperative Event Center, Ikorodu.
In an official appreciation message, Hon. Adesina specially acknowledged the presence and support of the First Lady of Lagos State, Her Excellency Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, who graced the event.
“It is with deep pleasure and honour that I express my gratitude to Her Excellency, our mother, Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. Your instrumental role and support boosted the accomplishment of the event. Thank you, and may God bless you,” Hon. Adesina said.
He further extended his appreciation to the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, and His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, along with other dignitaries who took time out of their busy schedules to attend the event.
“I am indeed grateful to every distinguished leader and Royal Father for their support and words of encouragement,” he added.
Hon. Adesina also praised Kaodwad & Associates, the official collaborators of the event, highlighting their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence.
“It has been a journey, and your resilience brought excellence to the event. There couldn’t have been a better collaborator,” he stated.
In a heartfelt message to the participating students and their teachers from the 16 secondary schools across Ikorodu Division, Hon. Adesina expressed immense pride.
“Every mind was exceptional throughout the journey from the preliminaries. I am so proud of every child and most proud of the teachers’ commitment to delivering excellence,” he said.
He concluded his message by wishing that the fruits of the initiative continue to benefit future generations. “May this initiative stand strong and serve its purpose for many generations to come,” he concluded.
The debate competition has been lauded as a significant effort in promoting academic excellence and fostering a spirit of healthy competition among students in Ikorodu Division.
