ISIU EWEYE DAY 2024: ISEDASS UNVEILS OFFICIAL ANKARA, ANNOUNCES FESTIVAL LINEUP ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Isiu, Lagos State – October 26, 2024 – Embodying cultural pride and unity, Isiu Eweye Day 2024 has kicked off with the unveiling of its official Ankara attire and a full lineup of events at the Palace of the Eweye of Isiu in Ikorodu North LCDA, setting the stage for another vibrant annual celebration.

The festivities began today, October 26, with the launch of a football competition and the ceremonial introduction of the Ankara attire, marking the start of a packed schedule running through December 14.

This year’s program includes a variety of events engaging all sections of the region.

Key highlights feature Education Day, Cultural Day, Market Men and Women/Artisan Day, Ram Competition, and Free Healthcare Day.

The festival will conclude with a Grand Finale on December 14, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.

Under the theme “Power of Togetherness and Love: A Better Way to Meaningful Growth and Development,” this year’s festivities celebrate Isiu’s cultural richness and communal spirit.

In his remarks before the Ankara unveiling, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olukayode David, the Eweye of Isiu, set an enthusiastic tone for the weeks of celebration ahead.

Addressing a gathering of prominent leaders, esteemed sons and daughters of Isiu, residents, and friends, Oba Olukayode expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support from all who contribute to the continued success of Isiu Eweye celebrations.

“Your steadfast encouragement empowers us, and together we will make this year’s Eweye Day celebration one for the ages,” Oba Olukayode shared, emphasizing the community’s commitment to preserving heritage while advancing forward.

Otunba Folagbade Musa Banwo, Chairman of the Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS), offered a special tribute to Oba Olukayode David, noting that his visionary leadership has greatly enhanced unity and progress within Isiu.

“Kabiyesi, your leadership and vision have been a source of strength and pride for our people,” Banwo remarked, acknowledging the Eweye of Isiu’s role in fostering community growth.

He credited Oba David’s influence as a driving force behind the annual  successful celebrations.

Otunba Banwo also extended an invitation to all sons, daughters, and friends of Isiu to join the festivities. “Let us come together to honour our past, celebrate the present, and build the future we envision for our beloved Isiu,” he said.

The festival’s lineup aims not only to entertain but also to inspire and educate.

The celebration began on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with the commencement of the football competition and the unveiling of the Ankara, marking the official declaration of Eweye Day. Educational competitions will follow from Thursday, November 21 to Thursday, November 28, 2024.

A Woro rally is set for Saturday, November 30, followed by Cultural Day on Tuesday, December 3, and Market Men and Women/Artisan Day on Thursday, December 5. The football competition final will take place on Saturday, December 7, and the Ram Competition on Sunday, December 8.

Free healthcare services will be available on Tuesday, December 10, and Sanitation Day on Thursday, December 12. The event will conclude with a Grand Finale on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Concluding his address, Banwo highlighted a raffle draw for the event, where 20 lucky winners will receive a cash prize of N10,000 each.

With its focus on unity and growth, Isiu Eweye Day 2024 is poised to be an unforgettable celebration, strengthening bonds, honouring traditions, and reinforcing a shared vision for a prosperous future in Isiu.
