The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina has announced plans to host a special funfair event in honour of Abdulazeez Abdulrahmon, a distinguished student of Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu.

Abdulazeez is set to once again make history as he assumes the prestigious role of a one-day governor of Lagos State at Alausa, Ikeja, on Monday, October 28, 2024.

This remarkable achievement not only highlights Abdulazeez’s academic excellence and leadership potential but also reflects the commitment of Ikorodu Local Government to nurturing the talents of its youth.

The one-day governor’s initiative is part of an annual program by Lagos State, orchestrated by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to reward top-performing students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and academic excellence.

Abdulazeez Abdulrahmon, having met the rigorous selection criteria, will undertake official duties alongside senior government officials, providing him with valuable insights into governance and public administration.

To celebrate this milestone, Hon. Wasiu Adesina has organized a fun fair to honour Abdulazeez’s achievements and inspire other students within the Ikorodu community.

Scheduled to take place at the council secretariat after Abdulazeez completes his day as Governor, the funfair will feature an array of activities, entertainment, and speeches from dignitaries.

The event aims to recognize Abdulazeez’s hard work and the support provided by Oriwu Senior Model College in fostering a culture of academic excellence.

In a statement to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Hon. Wasiu Adesina emphasized the significance of the event, saying, “Abdulazeez’s accomplishment is a testament to the dedication of our young leaders in Ikorodu, and as a local government, we are proud to honour him”.

“This funfair is our way of celebrating not only his success but also of encouraging all students to aim high and pursue their dreams.”
