IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOOSTS OPERATIONS WITH NEW VEHICLES, HONOURS OUTGOING STAFF WITH SEND-OFF CEREMONY ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Ikorodu Local Government, led by Executive Chairman Hon. Wasiu Adesina hosted a significant event at the Council’s Hall on October 29, 2024, to empower the management team with new official vehicles and honour departing staff members.

The dual-purpose ceremony held at the Council Secretariat Hall highlighted the Council’s dedication to operational excellence and staff appreciation, underscoring the administration’s commitment to improving service delivery and fostering a supportive work environment.

During the event, the council  chairman demonstrated the importance of equipping council officials with the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively, stating that the provision of official vehicles would enhance mobility and responsiveness across the Ikorodu Local Government Area.

In addition to vehicle distribution, the ceremony celebrated the achievements of long-serving staff members who were retiring.

Addressing the guests and attendees, Hon. Wasiu Adesina expressed pride in presenting the official vehicles, emphasizing that the initiative marks an important milestone for Ikorodu Local Government.

“These vehicles symbolize our gratitude for the hard work and dedication shown by our management team,” he remarked.

“They are also essential tools that will enable our team to serve our people more effectively and reach the farthest corners of our communities.”

The vehicles, provided to improve service accessibility, were handed out in a phased approach.

The first phase covers essential departments, including the Council Manager, Council Treasurer, Budget Department, Audit Department, and Legal Unit.

Departments such as the Agricultural Department and the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE)., Environmental, Education, and WAPA are scheduled to receive their vehicles in subsequent phases.

In addition, two revenue buses were recently allocated to the Area Office to enhance revenue collection operations.

Hon. Adesina encouraged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the new vehicles, noting that they are not only a mark of appreciation but a responsibility toward serving the community better.

He expressed hope that this gesture would inspire the management team to achieve greater success and operational efficiency.

As part of the ceremony, Hon. Adesina paid tribute (with special award presentations) to the outgoing management team members who had served Ikorodu Local Government with dedication before being transferred to other local governments.

He listed the names of the departing officers, including notable members such as Mrs. Mabodu Adenike Elizabeth, Mr. Adeyanju Taofeek Adeshola, and Mr. Ajanaku Fatai, among others. Their  contributions were acknowledged as having laid a solid foundation for the council’s continued progress.

The Chairman also took a moment to honour Mrs. Adenike Mabodu, former Chairman of Ikorodu NULGE, who served with exceptional leadership.

In recognition of her outstanding commitment and harmonious tenure, Hon. Adesina announced the gift of a Lexus 300 vehicle for her personal use.

To further enhance the ceremony and promote work efficiency, welfare packages and special gift items were presented to disciplined and punctual staff members from each department as an additional supportive gesture by the Chairman.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Adesina encouraged the incoming management team members to use the vehicles responsibly and remain committed to delivering on the Council’s mandate.

He called upon everyone to work together toward a brighter future for Ikorodu Local Government, underscoring that “the path to progress relies on our unity and dedication to serving our people.”

The send-off ceremony closed with expressions of gratitude from both outgoing and current staff, applauding the Chairman’s leadership and the administration’s support.
