Dr. Jerry Vreeman, Executive Director of the Leadership in Obscurity Network (USA) and Lion Outreach International, along with Mr. Honey Olawale, founder of Global Skills Hub in the United Kingdom, recently held a significant meeting with the President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The courtesy visit, held in Harare, centred around finalizing plans for the upcoming 3rd Africa Education Summit, scheduled for April 3-5, 2025, in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

The high-level summit is set to gather educational leaders, policymakers, and development experts from across Africa and beyond to discuss transformative strategies for education, skill development, and leadership on the continent.

The visit underscored the commitment of both international and African stakeholders to improving education systems and creating sustainable pathways for youth empowerment across Africa.

Following their productive engagement with President Mnangagwa, Dr. Vreeman and Mr. Olawale travelled to Malawi, where they facilitated a one-day training session at the University of Malawi.

The training focused on skill-building and leadership development, inspiring students to innovate and contribute positively to their communities.

During their time in Malawi, the team also collaborated with APAS (Africa Prisoners Assistance Society) Malawi for a special outreach mission to Malawi Prison.

They met with inmates and distributed essential items as gifts, highlighting a commitment to supporting marginalized communities and promoting rehabilitation and reintegration.

Dr. Vreeman and Mr. Olawale expressed gratitude for the warm welcome in both Zimbabwe and Malawi, emphasizing their dedication to fostering education, empowerment, and humanitarian values in Africa.

“We’re excited to contribute to this vision of building a stronger Africa through education, skills, and leadership,” said Dr. Vreeman.

Mr. Olawale added, “The upcoming summit in Zimbabwe and our activities in Malawi are part of our broader commitment to driving meaningful change across the continent.”

As preparations for the 3rd Africa Education Summit progress, the Leadership in Obscurity Network and Global Skills Hub remain dedicated to creating impactful learning opportunities for African youths, with an eye toward sustainable development and regional cooperation.
