
The Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development, Mr. Bolaji Kayode Robert (Bibiire), has expressed shock and sadness over the passing of the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, Hon. Dotun Olakanle.
Olakanle passed away after a brief illness in the early hours of Saturday, 2nd November 2024.
While commiserating with the family and loved ones, the Honourable Commissioner noted that the chairman was a humanist and a leader dedicated to the development of his council since assuming office.
Robert conveyed his message through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, who led a delegation of State Government officials on a condolence visit to the family of the late Chairman.
According to him, “We lost a gem, an extraordinary Chairman who dedicated his life to the development of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area and, by extension, Lagos State.”
During the visit, the Commissioner further prayed for the repose of his soul and asked that God Almighty comfort his wife, family, friends, and the people of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area.
The Permanent Secretary was accompanied by the Director of the Local Government Administration Department. They were received by the APC Chairperson for Onigbongbo LCDA, Alhaja Iyabo Aminat Akerele, along with other top council officials of Onigbongbo LCDA.
