Lugbusi community in Ikorodu North LCDA, which includes the Peace, Joy, and Unique Estates, has expressed deep appreciation to the Lagos State Government for the recent provision of a transformer aimed at addressing the community’s electricity challenges.
The transformer, part of the Lagos State rural electrification initiative, brings new hope to residents grappling with inconsistent power supply.
The community received the transformer on November 6, 2024.
Chief Kamlat Adewale, the Baale of Lugbusi community, led the expressions of gratitude, commending Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for prioritizing the needs of rural communities and delivering on his promises to ensure equitable development.
“This transformer is a testament to the Lagos State government’s commitment to bringing the dividends of democracy to communities like ours,” Chief Adewale stated.
Special appreciation was also extended to Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development.
The Baale acknowledged Dr. Agbaje’s pivotal role in ensuring Lugbusi community’s inclusion in the electrification initiative following local leaders’ request for support.
His efforts to expedite the transformer delivery have left a lasting impression on the community.
Babatunde Awolesi, Chairman of Peace/Joy Estate within Lugbusi, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu’s dynamic leadership and responsiveness to community needs.
Awolesi highlighted the Governor’s proactive approach to problem-solving, which he said continues to “amaze and benefit the community.”
Adding to the praises, Kareem Bello from Unique Estate and JohnBull Abel from Joy Estate shared how this development has rekindled optimism in the community.
The transformer, they noted, is more than just a power source; it is an enabler of growth and development, bringing stability and support to local businesses and households alike.
Dr. Agbaje recently identified communities across Lagos State to benefit from the November edition of the rural electrification initiative, with Lugbusi community included among the selected beneficiaries.
Agbaje noted, “The community’s gratitude upon receiving the transformer highlights the positive impact of Lagos State’s rural electrification program and emphasizes the government’s dedication to sustainable progress across both urban and rural areas.”
“This support will drive further development within the community, drawing essential infrastructure closer to residents,” Dr. Agbaje added.
