The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, is set to inaugurate two significant development projects: the construction of dual-side drainage along Dada Street in Itupate and the construction of a legacy classroom at African Bethel Primary School, Ikorodu on Monday, November 11, 2024.
These projects aim to address critical infrastructure and educational needs within the region.
The drainage construction on Dada Street is expected to alleviate recurring issues of waterlogging and flooding, especially during heavy rains.

The two-side drainage system will enhance the flow and management of rainwater, thereby improving road usability and safeguarding the surrounding properties.
In tandem with the drainage project, the legacy classroom initiative at African Bethel Primary School underscores Hon. Adesina’s commitment to advancing education infrastructure within Ikorodu.
The plan to construct new classrooms was initiated after the Chairman’s recent needs assessment visit to the school.
During this visit, he identified a shortage of adequate space, which would limit the school’s ability to benefit from the local government’s provision of computer systems.

This classroom addition will not only reduce student congestion but also enhance the learning environment for young students.
By prioritizing educational infrastructure, Hon. Adesina continues to support academic development and improve learning conditions, empowering the next generation with quality education facilities.
These dual projects underscore the Ikorodu Local Government’s dedication to fostering both educational growth and sustainable infrastructure within the region.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the upcoming flag-off, Hon. Adesina remarked, “We remain committed to delivering projects that will have lasting impacts on the good people of Ikorodu. Both the drainage system and the new classroom represent our continued investment in the welfare of our communities.”
The project flag-off event on Monday is expected to be attended by local leaders, education stakeholders, and residents who are eager to witness this milestone in Ikorodu’s development journey.
