In recognition of his exceptional contributions to public service, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, was awarded the prestigious Distinguished Public Service Award (DSPA) at the 9th Annual Conference on Education, Research, and New Development, organized by the International Association of Research Scholars & Administrators (IARSA) on November 15, 2024.
Held at the PSSDC Conference Hall in Magodo, GRA, Lagos, the conference brought together distinguished scholars, administrators, and policy influencers to discuss vital issues in education, research, public service, and governance.
The two-day conference, which took place on November 14-15, 2024, included in-depth discussions on recent advancements in education, research, and public service.
Scholars, administrators, and global researchers gathered to exchange insights on navigating the evolving landscape of governance and service delivery, with the aim of advancing public service practices and fostering collaboration for future policy innovations.
The award ceremony stood as a central moment in the two-day event, where Hon. Adesina’s substantial contributions to shaping public service policies in Lagos State were formally acknowledged.
The Distinguished Public Service Award (DSPA) was presented to Hon. Adesina by Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, Director General of the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) and Deputy President/Vice Chairman of IARSA Worldwide.
Regarded as the highlight of the event, Ambassador Professor Akin Ogunsakin, President General of IARSA Worldwide, presented the award certificate to Hon. Adesina, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to fortifying sustainable governance frameworks and improving public service delivery in Lagos State.
According to Professor Ogunsakin, “Hon. Adesina has long been a trailblazer in public administration, with a strong focus on policies that support education, societal welfare, and the reform of governance structures.”
“His tireless work has made a lasting impact on the public service sector within Ikorodu Local Government and Lagos State as a whole, and has directly contributed to national policy development discussions.”
Upon receiving the award, Hon. Adesina expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the collective efforts of his team and fellow public servants in Ikorodu.
“This award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of my team and the exceptional public servants we have here in Lagos State. Together, we are building a legacy of service,” he said.
Hon. Adesina was joined at the award ceremony by several prominent officials, including Alhaji Lateef Afini, the Secretary to the Local Government, along with other key representatives from the Ikorodu Local Government Council.
Supported by the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), the event highlighted the essential collaboration between educational and governmental institutions in driving policy development.
