IKORODU PECULIAR LIONS CLUB OFFERS FREE MEDICAL SERVICE & DIABETES SCREENING TO LOCAL COMMUNITY ~ INN Nigeria ☆

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, District 404A-3 Nigeria, held a successful community health outreach, offering free medical services to residents of Ikorodu at  Akaun Lara, Adamo, Ikorodu, Lagos.

The event, beginning at the early hours of the day, was led by Lion Aminat Anike Sanusi NLCF, the current president of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, who was joined by other dedicated club members.

This health initiative provided an essential opportunity for residents to monitor and improve their health, with services that included free blood pressure (BP) checks, blood glucose (sugar) tests, and diabetes screenings.

Participants were advised not to eat prior to the screenings to ensure the accuracy of blood glucose results.

The screening assessed both normal and high blood glucose levels, helping participants understand their risk factors for diabetes and high blood pressure.

The event targeted early detection and preventive measures, offering vital health insights to numerous residents who otherwise might not have access to regular screenings.

The medical course saw the participation of other esteemed Lions Club members, including the club’s Charter President, Lion David Akinosho, and Service Chairperson, Lion Kayode Aluko, among others.

Their involvement underscored the Lions Club’s ongoing commitment to community service and health improvement.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the Lions Club’s support and care, which brought health awareness and services closer to home.

Lion Aminat Sanusi, speaking on behalf of the club, highlighted the importance of routine health checks in preventing complications from diabetes and hypertension and common ailments in the community.

“Our mission is to ensure that everyone has access to essential health services,” she noted, emphasizing the Lions Club’s dedication to promoting wellness and preventing health crises.

“Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club plans to hold more outreach programs in the future, focusing on community health, wellness education, and preventive care to make a significant impact on the local health landscape,” added Lion Aminat Sanusi.
