Displaying compassion, Unique Sister Social Club in Ikorodu visited Hikanos Orphanage Home on Friday, November 15, as part of the 33rd annual Ikorodu Oga Day celebrations.

The initiative demonstrates the club’s commitment to supporting the vulnerable and embodies the spirit of this beloved cultural festival.

Ikorodu Oga Day, which began on November 10, 2024, is a yearly celebration spotlighting the unity, heritage, and growth of Ikorodu Division.

Traditionally focused on cultural displays, community reunions, and appreciation, the event took on a charitable aspect this year as Unique Sister Social Club directed their efforts toward philanthropy at Hikanos Orphanage Home.

During their visit, the club provided essential food items and supplies, supporting the daily needs of the children.

Club members also engaged with the children through interactive activities, bringing joy and creating memories.

Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Unique Abike Adeyeri, President of Unique Sister Social Club, emphasized the club’s dedication to giving back, stating, “Ikorodu Oga Day is not just a celebration; it’s also an opportunity for reconnection and making a positive impact.”

She encouraged other organizations to include acts of charity in their celebrations, underscoring the value of meaningful contributions to community welfare.

“Our mission is to foster a brighter future for Ikorodu Division,” Adeyeri continued.

“As proud indigenes of Ikorodu, we feel a duty to uplift the less privileged as we honour our heritage.”

Hikanos Orphanage Home expressed heartfelt gratitude for the club’s support.

“Despite current economic challenges, Unique Sister Social Club has shown immense generosity, which strengthens our resolve to continue caring for these children,” said a representative of the orphanage.

They also appealed for further support from the public, highlighting needs for financial aid, welfare items, and consistent assistance to ensure the children’s proper care, education, and nourishment.

The club’s visit provided more than material support; it brought hope and encouragement, deeply appreciated by both children and caregivers.

“Your kindness reminds us that we are not alone in this journey,” the orphanage matron said.

Unique Sister Social Club’s efforts exemplify the spirit of giving and serve as an inspiring call to the Ikorodu region to ensure every child grows in a loving and supportive environment.

The management of Hikanos Orphanage Home reiterated their appeal for ongoing support, urging individuals and organizations to continue their generosity.

“With sustained assistance, we can provide these children with a future filled with possibilities,” they concluded.
