
Ikorodu, Lagos, 18th November 2024 – In a warm display of compassion and community spirit, the management staff of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, led by Senior Special Assistant on Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Babatunde Durojaiye visited two vital centres for children today, delivering essential items and spreading joy ahead of the upcoming Annual Community Day Celebration.
The ministry’s team made their first stop at the House of Chloe orphanage in Ikorodu, where they were welcomed by staff and children alike.
Mr. Durojaiye, on behalf of the Ministry, presented gift packages that included non-perishable food items, toiletries, and various children’s necessities.
Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to community welfare and the importance of supporting vulnerable groups, especially children in need.
He expressed that this initiative is part of the Ministry’s broader goal to foster inclusiveness and support for all members of society, particularly as they prepare for the Annual Community Day Celebration slated for Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Following the visit to the orphanage, the team proceeded to the Ketu Special Children Centre in Sabo, Yaba, where they received a warm welcome from the caregivers and the children.
Here, Mr. Durojaiye and his colleagues distributed food items, clothing, educational materials, and other essential supplies.
