On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Alhaji Lamidi Folorunso, Chairman of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) for Aga Primary School, expressed his commendation for the proactive plans of Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, to provide electricity for a newly donated water project.
The statement was made during the handover ceremony of a borehole water project donated by Ikorodu Club to Aga Primary School as part of the club’s activities commemorating its 50th anniversary.
The project, aimed at alleviating water challenges within the school, was lauded as a significant contribution to the welfare of the students and staff.
In his remarks, Alhaji Lamidi praised Ikorodu Club for its generosity and commitment to community development.
However, he noted that the functionality of the borehole system depends on a steady power supply.
He revealed that during a budget stakeholders’ meeting held the previous day at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat, he discussed the issue with Hon. Wasiu Adesina, urging the provision of electricity to support the water project.
“Hon. Wasiu Adesina, being a leader committed to community needs, obliged the request and has assured us that plans are underway to provide the necessary power supply to the school”.
“This will ensure that the borehole system operates efficiently and sustainably for the benefit of our pupils,” Alhaji Lamidi stated.
The handover event was attended by members of Ikorodu Club and school management staff, all of whom emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing educational and infrastructural challenges in the community.
“With the pledge of support from Hon. Wasiu Adesina, stakeholders remain optimistic about the sustained impact of the borehole project and other developmental initiatives in the school, ” Alhaji Lamidi added.
