Renowned agricultural and business management expert, Dr. Promise Okagwa has commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his remarkable performance during his second term in office, describing it as a testament to his administrative strength and developmental vision.
Dr. Okagwa made these remarks to Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the 30th of November 2024 while evaluating the impact of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s initiatives, highlighting key infrastructure projects that have significantly improved the lives of Lagosians.
Among the achievements he lauded were the Governor’s efforts in enhancing connectivity through the construction of rural roads and the distribution of transformers through its office of rural development to underserved communities to ensure stable electricity.
These interventions, he noted, are helping to bridge gaps in infrastructure and improve the quality of life in rural areas.
Dr. Okagwa also celebrated the commissioning of the Lagos Blue and Red Rail Lines as transformative milestones in the state’s transportation sector.
“The rail lines are a major step forward in positioning Lagos as a model city, not just in Nigeria but across Africa,” he stated.
Reflecting on the Governor’s first term, Dr. Okagwa candidly admitted that he had not been impressed, saying, “During the Governor’s first term, I actually didn’t say anything because I wasn’t impressed.”
“But presently, I am ready to give Mr. Governor a warm handshake because efforts are beginning to come together, making more sense in Lagos’ visibility both nationally and across Africa.”
Dr. Okagwa’s endorsement adds to the growing recognition of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration, which has been characterized by innovative policies and strategic interventions aimed at fostering sustainable growth and development across Lagos State.
