The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, has announced plans to empower close to 200 participants in a fashion training program by January 2025.
The announcement was made to Ikorodu News Network (INN) during the launch of a three-day entrepreneurship skills training program for 40 selected women in Ikorodu Central, held at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat on December 4, 2024.
According to Adesina, the initiative aligns with his administration’s commitment to capacity building and skills development for residents of Ikorodu.
Emphasizing the significance of vocational training, Hon. Adesina disclosed that the ongoing fashion training program, which began in the third quarter of 2024, will conclude with a major empowerment initiative, such as providing sewing machines, to equip participants with the essential tools and resources for success in the fashion industry.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering residents through skill acquisition programs, a cornerstone of his tenure.
The planned empowerment project is expected to uplift beneficiaries, fostering economic independence and entrepreneurial success.
