General Hospital, Ijede, achieved a significant milestone by receiving the prestigious Creative Catalyst Award at the 2024 Ideas Day Innovation Competition on the 4th of December 2024.
The event, organized by the Lagos State Office of Transformation, Creativity & Innovation (OTCI), recognized institutions and individuals driving innovation and impactful solutions in the state’s public service sector.
The award was presented by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, to the hospital’s Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Olufemi Aletan.
Dr. Aletan was celebrated for his exemplary leadership, particularly his commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where officers’ ideas are actively solicited, valued, and transformed into practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Aletan dedicated the award to the staff of General Hospital, Ijede, emphasizing their collaborative spirit and innovation-driven approach to healthcare delivery.
He expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government for providing platforms such as the Ideas Day Innovation Competition, which inspire creativity and reward excellence.

He noted that the Creative Catalyst Award is reserved for organizations that demonstrate exceptional ability to implement groundbreaking ideas, aligning with Lagos State’s vision for a transformative public service.
