
Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, has taken a significant step toward improving infrastructure and living conditions in the community by commissioning a borehole project at Osholigbeyin-Agbele in Ward F, Ikorodu Local Government.
The project, facilitated by the APC Woman Leader of Ikorodu Division, Alhaja Rashidat Bello, was officially inaugurated on December 4, 2024.
During the event, Hon. Adesina directed the council engineer to assess the gutter system on Osholigbeyin Street and pledged the construction of a two-sided drainage system to address the area’s pressing environmental challenges.
This announcement, which underscores the chairman’s proactive approach to community needs, was met with resounding applause from residents.
Hon. Adesina highlighted the importance of the borehole project as part of his administration’s efforts to expand access to clean water across Ikorodu’s wards.
He noted that this is the second borehole project commissioned in Ward F this year, following an earlier initiative facilitated by the Councillor representing the ward, Hon. Buraimoh Oluwakemi.
“In 2024 alone, over ten borehole projects have been commissioned across Ikorodu Central wards,” the chairman announced, emphasizing his administration’s unwavering commitment to addressing basic infrastructure needs, including water supply and drainage systems.
The Leader of the House, Hon. Adebowale Adebola described the borehole project as a “game changer” for Ward F, alleviating long-standing water challenges in the community.
Similarly, the DG of WADESH Foundation, Comrade Babatunde Akadri Sayleke, praised Hon. Adesina’s leadership describes the council’s initiatives as “progressive and community-focused.”
Alhaja Rashidat Bello, who facilitated the project and serves as the Special Adviser to the Chairman on Women Affairs, expressed her gratitude to Hon. Adesina for supporting the initiative.
She explained that her motivation to bring clean water to Osholigbeyin-Agbele stemmed from her commitment to her community and the inspiration drawn from the chairman’s visionary leadership.
Hon. Buraimoh Oluwakemi, the Ward F Councillor, commended Alhaja Bello’s dedication and thanked Hon. Adesina for ensuring equitable development across the wards.
Residents of Osholigbeyin-Agbele expressed their appreciation, with local Community Development Association (CDA) leaders describing the borehole project as a transformative solution to their water challenges.
The commissioning was attended by notable dignitaries, including Deaconess Busola Isikalu (Iya-Oloja General of Ikorodu Division), Alhaji Adewale Musliu Sulaimon (Ola4), Alhaji Taiwo Longe, and Alhaji Musiliu Lawal-Animashaun (De-Cubano).
The Osholigbeyin-Agbele borehole project, according to jubilant residents, is a testament to Hon. Wasiu Adesina’s administration’s dedication to sustainable development, improved living conditions, and infrastructural growth across Ikorodu Local Government.
