On the 6th of December 2024, the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club undertook a significant recycling project at the renowned Oshodi Arts Gallery, further demonstrating their commitment to environmental preservation and community service.
The project, aimed at fostering a healthier and more sustainable environment, was spearheaded by the club’s president, Aminat Anike Sanusi.
In his remarks on behalf of the president, Lion David Akinosho, Charter President of the club, emphasized the urgency of promoting eco-friendly practices within the community.
“This project aligns with our vision to create a healthier environment for everyone. Recycling not only reduces waste but also ensures the preservation of our ecosystem for future generations,” he stated.
Lion Kayode Aluko, the service chairperson of the club, also underscored the importance of the initiative.
He highlighted that recycling projects such as this serve as a call to action for individuals and organizations to take responsibility for their environmental impact.
“Our aim is to educate and inspire the community to adopt sustainable habits. Every small step counts in building a cleaner and greener society,” Lion Aluko added.
The event saw active participation from volunteer members of the club, who encouraged embracing recycling as a means of reducing waste and conserving resources.
The initiative is part of the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club’s broader effort to address environmental challenges and contribute to global sustainability goals.
