Ikorodu, Lagos – December 13, 2024
The Oshodi Arts Gallery has successfully hosted the third edition of its annual Christmas Carol event, themed “Sing for Christ’s Sake”, at the Ikorodu Musical Village.
The event brought together children from over 12 schools across the region to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ while promoting good morals and values.
The vibrant celebration featured a variety of presentations, including captivating performances by children’s choirs, heartfelt ministrations, and exciting dance competitions.
Attendees also enjoyed engaging activities such as games, a visit from Father Christmas, and a memorable gorilla-themed performance.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Oshodi Seyi Paul, CEO of Oshodi Arts Gallery, underscored the purpose of the program:
“This event is about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ as depicted in the Holy Bible. It is also designed to bring children together and engage them in activities that improve their moral standards,” he stated.
Dr. Oshodi further reiterated the gallery’s dedication to positively shaping young minds through initiatives like the Christmas Carol:
“This is our third edition, and we will continue to use this platform to catch them young and inspire their way of growth positively,” he added.
The celebration received widespread commendation from participants and stakeholders. Mr. Desmond Ayeleso, proprietor of D’Genius Academy, described the event as “one of a kind” and expressed enthusiasm for future editions:
“The organizers always spice up their events with elements of surprise, and I look forward to seeing even bigger outcomes in the future,” he remarked.
Pastor Prosper Ikhioya, an associate of the gallery, highlighted the moral significance of the program:
“In an era where morality is a questionable stance in the upbringing of children, this program serves as a tool for positive transformation.”
He added, “With its engaging activities and a focus on moral and spiritual growth, the Oshodi Arts Gallery’s Christmas Carol continues to stand out as a transformative initiative for children in Ikorodu and beyond.”
The event has once again solidified its place as a cherished tradition, combining entertainment and moral education for children in the Ikorodu community.
