
In a historic development, the Eweye of Isiu, HRM Oba David Olukayode Raji, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, commissioned a newly completed 2-kilometer road constructed by the Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Benson, MHR, during the grand finale of the Isiu Eweye Day celebration.
The newly constructed road, which fulfils a promise made by Rep. Benson, during the 2023 edition of the celebration, connects four critical streets in Isiu: Oba David Raji Crescent, Hon. Babajimi Benson Street, Adeyeri Oba Street, and Arobiona Street.
The infrastructure development marks a significant milestone in enhancing road connectivity and fostering growth in the Isiu community.
Speaking on behalf of Rep. Babajimi Benson, his Special Aide, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola, highlighted the road as a testament to Rep. Benson’s dedication to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Isiu in Ikorodu North LCDA.
He emphasized that the project, if properly maintained, will not only ease mobility but also attract further development to the region.
HRM Oba David Olukayode Raji commended the federal lawmaker, describing him as a God-sent leader committed to the progress of the Ikorodu Division.
“Rep. Benson has continuously demonstrated a passion for uplifting his constituency through impactful projects.”
“We pray that God grants him the strength to carry the Division’s responsibilities on his shoulders,” the monarch remarked.
Bldr. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, also lauded Rep. Benson for his exceptional commitment to developmental projects.
He expressed gratitude for the lawmaker’s prioritization of the satisfaction and well-being of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
Otunba Musa Afolagbade Banwo, Chairman of the Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS), praised the project’s timely completion, noting its potential to bring prosperity and uplift the Isiu community.
“This road will serve as a catalyst for further infrastructural and economic growth in the region,” he added.
The event was graced by prominent traditional rulers, including HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, and the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, Oba Abdul Ganiyu Aderibigbe Asunmo, alongside other dignitaries and community leaders.
With the successful completion of the road, Rep. Babajimi Benson has once again proven his dedication to fostering sustainable development in Ikorodu Division, ensuring that no community is left behind.
