The announcement was made on December 18, 2024, by Prince Ademola Abidoye, Proprietor of Grand-Plus College, in collaboration with the office of Hon. Princess Olabanji-Oba.

The initiative underscores their commitment to creating pathways for Nigerians to achieve professional and academic excellence.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Princess Olabanji-Oba, the National Chairman of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC), emphasized the transformative power of education.

“Education is liberty; it is freedom, and the opportunities it brings should never be taken for granted.”

“Today’s collaboration is emotional for me because it allows us to bring smiles to the faces of our youths, especially those with dreams of higher education but lacking the financial means,” she remarked.

Bamishaye Olusola Emmanuel, Registrar of Grand-Plus College of Education, outlined the scope of the scholarship.

The three-year NCE program includes certification from the Teacher’s Registration Council of Nigeria and vocational training in at least two skills, equipping students with both academic and practical knowledge.

Admissions are open for both the College of Education and the College of Health, Science, and Technology, with registration running from December 2024 to the end of January 2025.

The eligibility criteria for the NCE program require five credits in relevant subjects, including Mathematics and English.

Mr. Ayoola Mayowa, Registrar for the College of Health, Science, and Technology, highlighted the accredited programs available, such as Community Health, Public Health, and Pharmacy, all leading to National Diploma certifications.

He emphasized the institution’s accreditation by the National Board for Technical Education, ensuring the quality and recognition of the offered programs.

Delegates at the event included prominent stakeholders such as Mr. Kehunlere Abdulrasaq, Mrs. Oluwafunmilayo Ruth, and Mr. Abidoye Abiodun, who lauded the partnership for its far-reaching impact on the lives of Nigerian youths.

The scholarship initiative is a testament to the visionary leadership of Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, whose advocacy for education and youth development continues to inspire positive change.

Folashade-Oba further stated that this partnership not only allows Grand-Plus College to expand its reach but also makes a significant contribution to the upliftment of Nigerians through accessible education.
