
The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina has described the Year 2025 budget as a “Budget of Consolidation” during the council’s annual budget retreat held in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
The retreat, which brought together council officials, stakeholders, and budget planning experts, served as a platform to outline strategic priorities for the forthcoming fiscal year and evaluate the successes of past initiatives.

Hon. Adesina, in his keynote address, emphasized that the proposed budget was designed to consolidate on the gains achieved over the past years while addressing lingering developmental gaps across the local government area.
According to the council boss, the ‘Budget of Consolidation’ reflects the administration’s commitment to sustaining impactful projects and improving the living standards of Ikorodu residents.

He highlighted key areas of focus, including infrastructure development, health care, education, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability.
“Over the past years, we have laid a strong foundation for progress through various developmental projects and initiatives.”

“The 2025 Budget of Consolidation is a strategic effort to build on these achievements, ensuring that no sector is left behind,” Hon. Adesina stated.
The chairman also reiterated the council’s commitment to accountability and prudent resource management, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to achieve the outlined goals.
He further noted that the retreat provided an opportunity for input from key sectors to ensure that the budget reflects the aspirations of the people.
Participants at the retreat commended the council’s forward-thinking approach and alignment with the developmental agenda of Lagos State.

Stakeholders expressed optimism that the budget would drive meaningful progress and positively impact the lives of the residents of Ikorodu Local Government.
The annual budget retreat, held in a serene environment in Ijebu-Ode, featured interactive sessions, technical discussions, and expert contributions to refine the budget framework.

It also allowed the council team to align its plans with state and federal government policies.
The 2025 ‘Budget of Consolidation’ is slated to be submitted to the legislative arm of the council for approval ahead of Christmas Day 2024.
