On December 26, 2024, the palace of the Eweye of Isiu Kingdom witnessed a momentous occasion as HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji conferred the esteemed titles of Bobaselu and Yeye Bobaselu of Isiu Land on Alhaji Bika Moshuru and his wife, Mrs. Raliat Bika.
This prestigious installation ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries and residents of Isiu Kingdom, who gathered to witness the couple’s new roles in the community.
It featured the presentation of the official title certificate, official crowning, staff presentation, and bead-wearing ceremony.
Oba Olukayode David Raji commended Alhaji Bika for his continuous efforts in the development of the Ito community over the years, emphasizing his dedication to the growth and welfare of the people in his address.
The monarch expressed his confidence in Alhaji Bika’s ability to contribute further to the kingdom’s advancement.
“You are now a member of my cabinet of chiefs,” Oba Raji declared. “I can call on you for any given assignment, and you must respond accordingly.”
He further stated, “Wherever I know you can represent me, I will call upon you to accompany any of our Baales and chiefs.”
“From this moment on, as you are conferred with this title, you are officially in my cabinet.”
Additionally, the king acknowledged the significance of Mrs. Raliat Bika’s background, as she is an indigene of Isiu Land.
He emphasized that her new role as Yeye Bobaselu would also enable her to assist the Olori with various responsibilities and assignments on behalf of the kingdom.
Alhaji Bika, deeply humbled by the honour, pledged his unwavering commitment to the development of Isiu Kingdom.
He assured the king and the community that he would always make himself available to carry out any task assigned to him by the monarch.
Expressing gratitude, Alhaji Bika thanked the king for the privilege and commended the good people of Isiu Kingdom, especially the residents of Ito community, for their support.
He also expressed heartfelt appreciation for his wife, Mrs. Raliat Bika, for her constant encouragement and support in both his personal and professional life.
Otunba Olagbade Banwo, in his remarks, noted that the conferral of these titles grants Alhaji Bika the added responsibility of being a councillor and adviser to the king.
This further solidifies Alhaji Bika’s role in the governance and leadership of Isiu Kingdom.
The installation ceremony was graced by several prominent figures, including Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo, the CDC Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA; Mrs. Alebiosu Kalejaiye, Iyalode of Isiu; Chief Benjamin Peter; Engineer Dankuwo; Hon. Matthew Adesanya; Chief Imam of Isiu, Muhammad Rajji Musa; Alhaji Sowemimo Gbolahan Omo’oba Odogba, Head of the Family of Olubade Ifadaland of Isiu; and Hon. Kehinde Babayemisi Fakunmoju, among others.
The occasion not only highlighted the significance of traditional leadership but also underscored the commitment of both Alhaji Bika and Mrs. Raliat Bika to their community.
Their appointment to these revered titles marks a new chapter in the history of Isiu Kingdom, one that is poised for further growth and unity under the wise leadership of HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji.
