HON. ABIODUN MOSHOOD ARO LAYS FOUNDATION FOR LAJO JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL in IGBOGBO ~ INN Nigeria ☆

In a bid to improve educational infrastructure in Lagos State, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, formally commenced the construction of Lajo Junior Secondary School in Igbogbo on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

The ceremony, which attracted widespread attention, was attended by prominent stakeholders, including Bldr Olusesan Mayokun Daini, Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA; Hon. Basirat Adetutu Banjoko, Councillor of Ward C2; Hon. Nurudeen Alimi, Leader of the House Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA; the Baale of Lajo community, Chief Waliu Yinusi Oduntan, and representatives from Smile Foundation and the Community Development Committee (CDC).

The Lajo Junior Secondary School project comprises the construction of an 18-classroom block, a reinforced perimeter fence with a raft foundation, two gatehouses, and a food shed.

The initiative aims to tackle the growing demand for quality education and create a supportive environment for learning.

During his address, Hon. Abiodun, popularly known as AMA, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for prioritizing education in Lagos State.

He commended the governor’s commitment to development and acknowledged the pivotal contributions of the Special Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS), led by Mr. Akeem Smith, in making the project possible.

“Education is the cornerstone of progress, and this project reflects our dedication to equipping our children with the best learning facilities,” Hon. Abiodun stated.

He further appreciated Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini for his steadfast collaboration and support in advancing community development, particularly in the education sector.

The council chairman, Bldr Sesan Daini, lauded Hon. Abiodun’s visionary leadership and described the project as a symbol of hope and progress.

“This foundation embodies our collective aspiration to empower the next generation through education,” Daini said.

Hon. Basirat Adetutu Banjoko, representing Ward C1, expressed her enthusiasm for the project’s location within her ward, underscoring its potential to uplift the educational standards in Lajo.

Chief Waliu Yinusi Oduntan, the Baale of Lajo, also praised Hon. Abiodun’s relentless efforts in addressing the pressing needs of the community.

Mrs. Agboola Elizabeth, Principal of Lajo Secondary School, expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, highlighting its transformative impact on both students and educators.

Comrade Ayo Ajayi, a local youth leader, called for the swift completion of the project, citing the current challenges faced by students learning in substandard rented facilities.

He emphasized the urgency of providing a conducive learning environment and commended the collaboration between the Baale and the government in securing land for the school.

The Lajo Junior Secondary School project is poised to redefine educational opportunities in the area, catering to the increasing student population and enhancing the region’s academic infrastructure.

With construction now underway, optimism abounds that the initiative will create lasting benefits for the community, further affirming Lagos State’s commitment to educational development.

This groundbreaking marks a significant milestone in addressing infrastructure gaps in Igbogbo, paving the way for a brighter future for the youth and showcasing the dedication of Lagos State leaders to fostering growth through education.
