ITO PROGRESSIVE CDA TO RECEIVE TRANSFORMER UNDER LAGOS RURAL ELECTRIFICATION INITIATIVE – DR AGBAJE ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, paid a working visit to the Ito Progressive Community Development Association (CDA) in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on January 9, 2025.

The visit was part of an on-the-spot assessment of the community’s pressing power supply needs.

The initiative followed a formal request from the Ito Progressive CDA, seeking government intervention to provide stable electricity in their area.

During the meeting, Alhaji Monshuru Bika, speaking on behalf of the CDA, highlighted the challenges of inadequate power supply faced by the residents.

He expressed the community’s urgent need for improved electricity infrastructure, noting its impact on the socio-economic activities of the area.

Responding to their concerns, Dr. Agbaje announced that the Lagos State Government would provide the community with a transformer under its rural electrification initiative.

He affirmed that this intervention aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to empowering underserved communities across the state.

This is not the first time the Ito Progressive CDA has benefited from the Lagos State Government’s rural electrification programs.

In 2024, the community received solar-powered streetlights to improve security and facilitate movement at night.

Dr. Agbaje reiterated the government’s dedication to bridging infrastructure gaps in rural areas and assured the community of continued support.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration prioritizes initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents in underserved areas,” he stated.

The announcement of the transformer provision was met with gratitude from the community, as they anticipate improved access to electricity to boost development efforts.
