The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, for the ongoing construction of the Gberigbe-Igbodu road project, describing it as a pivotal step toward enhancing infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
The road, which in the past was a major concern for both residents and commuters, is gradually being transformed.
It links the central area of Ikorodu, stretches to Imota LCDA, and reaches the Agura community.
Adesina made this commendation during the 2nd Coronation Anniversary celebration of Alaiyeluwa Oba Ahmed Moroof Olakunle Ogunnaike, the Alagura of Agura, held at Methodist Primary School, Agura, on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
In his remarks, Hon. Adesina highlighted the significance of the Gberigbe-Igbodu road project in improving transportation and boosting socio-economic activities in the affected communities.
He noted that the project is a testament to Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to advancing infrastructural development and uplifting rural areas in Lagos State.
“The construction of the Gberigbe-Igbodu road is a significant facelift for Ikorodu division, providing easier access for residents and fostering economic growth.”
“I commend Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu for his visionary leadership and dedication to the progress of Ikorodu and Lagos State at large,” Hon. Adesina stated.
The event, which marked two years of the Alagura of Agura’s reign, was attended by traditional rulers, community leaders, and dignitaries who came to celebrate the monarch’s contributions to peace and development in Agura.
HRM Oba Ogunnaike also praised the ongoing infrastructural projects within his domain and expressed gratitude to Hon. Adesina and the Lagos State Government for their support in driving progress in the area.
“The synergy between local and state governments in ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach grassroots communities, a vision shared by Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration,” Oba Ogunnaike said.
