The community of Agura witnessed a vibrant celebration as distinguished royal fathers, dignitaries, and residents gathered to commemorate the 2nd Coronation Anniversary of Alaiyeluwa Oba Ahmed Moroof Olakunle Ogunnaike, the Alagura of Agura, on January 11, 2025.
Held at Methodist Primary School, Agura, the event was honoured by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, who delivered a heartfelt address in tribute to the revered monarch.
In his speech, Hon. Adesina conveyed his warm congratulations to Oba Ogunnaike, recognizing his outstanding leadership, which has significantly contributed to the peace, unity, and socio-economic advancement of Agura land.
The Chairman referred to the monarch as a “symbol of progress and unity,” praising his remarkable ability to uphold traditional values while adapting to modern challenges for the collective growth of the community.
“Your Majesty, your ascension to the throne ushered in a period of unparalleled wisdom, empathetic leadership, and unwavering commitment to Agura’s prosperity. Your reign stands as a pillar of peace and progress,” Hon. Adesina remarked.
The Chairman further acknowledged Oba Ogunnaike’s significant achievements, including cultural rejuvenation, effective governance, and valuable partnerships with the local government to meet the needs of the community.
Hon. Adesina reiterated his administration’s dedication to reinforcing the traditional institution, vowing continued cooperation with the Alagura of Agura to ensure the kingdom’s continued dignity and development.
“It is an honour to collaborate with a monarch of your stature. Your collaboration with the government has been pivotal in addressing the challenges faced by our people,” he stated.
In closing, Hon. Adesina joined the people of Agura in celebrating the leadership of Oba Ogunnaike.
He prayed for the monarch’s continued health, wisdom, and strength and expressed his desire for ongoing peace, prosperity, and unity within Agura land under his reign.
The anniversary event served as a testament to the transformative leadership of Alaiyeluwa Oba Ahmed Moroof Olakunle Ogunnaike, whose reign has earned admiration and respect both within and outside the Agura Kingdom.
The occasion was attended by notable royal fathers, including HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom; HRM Oba Bashir Aremu Sotonwa, the Sekumade of Ipakodo Kingdom.
Oba Olukayode David Raji, the Eweye of Isiu; Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom; and Oba Ganiyu Aderibigbe Asunmo, the paramount ruler of Odo-Ayandelu, Ikosi Ejinrin, Epe, along with several other dignitaries.
