
Ikorodu, Lagos State – On January 27, 2025, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, expressed his sense of fulfilment during the flag-off of a 762sqm dual drainage reconstruction along the Obun-Ale to Ejina Road in Ward C.
The chairman, who is in the final stretch of his tenure, reflected on the significant accomplishments of his administration while pledging to complete all ongoing projects before leaving office.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Adesina said, “I feel fulfilled at this point. The performance rate of my administration is a testament to our commitment to delivering sustainable development to Ikorodu Local Government.”
“We are also determined to leave a solid foundation for the incoming administration, ensuring a better template to lead.”
Highlighting some of his administration’s achievements, the chairman also unveiled several initiatives slated for completion or launch in the coming months.
These include: Distribution of Free JAMB Forms to eligible secondary school leavers; The WREP Water Project to provide clean water in strategic locations across Ikorodu; Completion of the Modern Legislative Chamber construction; and A comprehensive face-lift of the council Secretariat.
Hon. Adesina also shared updates about the Federal Government’s Women Rights Empowerment Program (WREP) Water Project, which will benefit two ward communities in Ikorodu Local Government.
Encouraging parents to support their children’s education, the chairman urged residents to register their children for the council’s Free JAMB program.
He disclosed that the initiative, coordinated by Hon. Afeez Banwo, a councillor in the local government, aims to reduce the financial burden on families while promoting academic excellence.
Adesina’s address was met with applause from stakeholders and residents, who commended his administration for its dedication to infrastructural development and community empowerment.
As his tenure draws to a close, the council chairman reaffirmed his commitment to completing all ongoing projects, ensuring that his administration leaves behind a legacy of progress and impactful governance.
