Covenant University has officially matriculated 190 pioneer learners into its Centre for Open and Distance e-Learning (CCODeL), reinforcing its commitment to expanding access to quality education through flexible learning.
The new entrants, who took the matriculation oath last Friday, joined 2,449 other students in the university’s 23rd Matriculation Ceremony, marking the beginning of their academic journey.
Addressing the learners, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Anake, congratulated them on choosing Covenant University, an institution known for academic excellence and innovation.
“Enrolling at Covenant University is a bold step toward unlocking your potential. This institution goes beyond academics—it is a transformative environment that nurtures your aspirations, strengthens your character, and prepares you to excel through our Core Values: spirituality, integrity, diligence, responsibility, and sacrifice,” he stated.
Professor Anake further assured students that the university remains committed to a holistic education approach, blending intellectual, spiritual, and professional training to shape well-rounded graduates.
In his welcome remarks, the Director of CCODeL, Dr. Mayowa Agboola praised the learners for making history as the first cohort of the program.
He encouraged them to take full advantage of the modern learning facilities designed to enhance their educational experience.
CCODeL provides a technology-driven learning model that caters to both recent secondary school graduates and working professionals, offering a B.Sc. in computer science through a flexible, self-paced platform.
The program, which commenced classes on October 19, 2024, eliminates barriers to higher education with no application fees, JAMB requirements, or age restrictions while maintaining an affordable tuition of N250,000 per session.
