The Leader of the Legislative Chamber in Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Adebowale Adebola has praised the Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, for his dedication to educational growth in the local government area.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN) at the Ikorodu LG Secretariat on February 6, 2025, during the presentation of cash prizes to winners of the 2nd edition of the Ikorodu Division Interschool Debate Competition, Hon. Adebola, who is also a chairmanship aspirant, highlighted the chairman’s consistent support for academic excellence.
Hon. Adebola described the competition as a catalyst for intellectual growth, stating that such programs help students build confidence, sharpen their reasoning skills, and prepare them for global competitiveness.
As part of his commitment to education, Hon. Wasiu Adesina awarded ₦1 million in cash prizes to the three winning schools.
He presented Elepe Senior Grammar School, which secured first place with an impressive score of 76.3, winning ₦500,000.
Government Senior Model College, which claimed second place with a score of 74.1, received ₦300,000, while Ipakodo Senior Secondary School, which finished third with 70.0 points, received ₦200,000.
Hon. Adesina reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to support educational initiatives, ensuring that students in Ikorodu LG have access to quality learning experiences.
The event witnessed the presence of educators, local government officials, and students, who all commended the chairman’s vision for educational development.
Hon. Adebola urged continued investment in youth-oriented programs, emphasizing that education remains a key driver for community progress and sustainable leadership.
