Realers Initiatives, a non-governmental organization dedicated to educational empowerment, extended support to 406 students and 38 special needs pupils of Salvation Army School, Ikorodu Central in a heartwarming Valentine’s Day gesture.
The event, which took place on February 14, 2025, was themed “Education is the Key to Success” and aimed at fostering qualitative education while celebrating the birthday of Mrs. Olayinka Akinkurolere, owner of Treasure Stores, a major supporter of the initiative.
This marks the 4th edition of the Realers Initiatives Academic Enhancement Project, an effort approved by the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB).
The 2024 edition was successfully conducted in Ikorodu North LCDA, further reinforcing the NGO’s commitment to bridging educational gaps in public schools.

To ensure students have the necessary tools for learning, Realers Initiatives provided a variety of essential educational materials, including school bags, sandals and shoes; Socks; Notebooks; Water bottles, and other learning aids.
These supplies were distributed to all 406 students, ranging from Nursery to Primary 6, as well as 38 special needs pupils at Salvation Army School.
The initiative was designed not just to provide school supplies but also to inspire students and encourage academic excellence.
During the event, Mrs. Olayinka Akinkurolere, the celebrated entrepreneur and philanthropist, highlighted the importance of supporting public school students.
“Many of us in Realers Initiatives attended public schools, and we understand the challenges faced by students in these environments.”

“Some of the greatest Nigerians today are products of public education, and we must continue to give back and show love to children in need,” she told Ikorodu News Network (INN).
Founder of Realers Initiatives, Mr Ayanfeoluwa Ayobami Oshineye, described the project as the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, emphasizing that love should be expressed through service and generosity.
“This is the best way we can celebrate Valentine’s Day—by showing love to these young students and providing them with the tools they need to succeed.”
“We are grateful to Treasure Stores for their sponsorship and appreciate the Lagos State Government for approving this initiative,” he said.
Mr. Oshineye also called on private organizations, philanthropists, and stakeholders to collaborate with Realers Initiatives to reach more schools and students in future editions.
Expressing her excitement, Mrs Elizabeth Adejoke, Headmistress of Salvation Army School, commended Realers Initiatives for putting smiles on the faces of the students, staff, and parents.
“Since my recent transfer to this school, one of my biggest concerns has been the lack of basic learning materials for students.”
“This initiative is truly God-sent because it directly addresses those challenges. The happiness on the children’s faces today is immeasurable,” she remarked.
A parent, Mrs. Funmilayo Adebayo, whose two children benefited from the project, also shared her gratitude:

“It’s not every day that organizations come to support public school students like this. This project will ease the financial burden on many parents and help the children focus on their studies.”
Rotarian Oduntan Nurudeen, one of the supporting guests at the event, emphasized the long-term impact of empowering young students.
“Education is the foundation of our society. Programs like this not only provide immediate relief but also plant the seeds for a brighter future. What Realers Initiatives is doing today is shaping tomorrow’s leaders,” he stated.
He added that such projects truly align with the spirit of Valentine’s Day—spreading love, hope, and support to those in need.
As the event came to a close, students, teachers, and parents expressed their appreciation for the initiative, calling for its continuity.
The Realers Initiatives team reassured the public of their commitment to educational development and community service, with plans to expand the project in subsequent editions.

With consistent support from partners like Treasure Stores, the Lagos State Government, and other stakeholders, the Realers Initiatives Academic Enhancement Project continues to serve as a beacon of hope for public school students.
By ensuring children have access to the educational tools they need, the organization is not only improving literacy but also creating a legacy of learning, empowerment, and transformation for young minds in Nigeria.
