
The Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council (LSCDAC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development, organized a ‘Train the Trainers’ workshop on February 18, 2025, at the T-Block Conference Room, Alausa Secretariat.
The training aligns with LSCDAC’s mandate to promote the THEMES+ Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration, ensuring effective communication, stronger community relationships, and peaceful coexistence among Community Development Associations (CDAs) and Community Development Committees (CDCs) across Lagos State.
The event was graced by top government officials and community leaders, including: Mrs Kikelomo Bolarinwa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development; Alhaji Amusat Azeez Aremu, Chairman, Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council (LSCDAC); Mr. Babatunde Durojaiye, Senior Special Assistant on Local Government and Rural Development and Other distinguished stakeholders from various CDAs and CDCs
Delivering her keynote address, Mrs Kikelomo Bolarinwa emphasized the need for capacity building among community leaders, stressing that effective grassroots leadership is key to implementing government policies successfully.
She encouraged participants to utilize the training as a tool for driving positive transformation and development in their communities.
In his remarks, Alhaji Amusat Azeez Aremu highlighted LSCDAC’s dedication to bridging communication gaps between the government and community-based organizations.
He described the training as a strategic initiative to empower local leaders with the knowledge and skills required to mediate conflicts, mobilize resources, and promote government programs at the grassroots level.
The ‘Train the Trainers’ workshop provided an interactive platform for discussing best practices, conflict resolution strategies, and innovative approaches to grassroots development.
Mr Babatunde Durojaiye reiterated the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to supporting community-led initiatives that foster peace, social harmony, and economic empowerment.
At the close of the session, participants were encouraged to disseminate the knowledge acquired to their respective CDAs and CDCs, ensuring that the training has a far-reaching impact across Lagos communities.
