
The Lagos State Office of Rural Development has assured residents of Ewu-Agbo community in Agura, Ikorodu Local Government, of immediate government intervention to resolve their power challenges.
During a needs assessment visit to the community on February 24, 2025, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, stated that the government, through the Lagos State Rural Electrification Initiative, would provide and install a brand-new transformer for the community.
He emphasized that the initiative, which has been ongoing since the second quarter of 2024, is designed to improve electricity access in rural areas and boost development.

Mr. Femi Taiwo, Chairman of the Ewu-Agbo Community Development Association (CDA), commended the state government for its swift response.
He noted that the prolonged power issues had significantly affected the community for the past eight months, making the intervention a welcome relief.
Also speaking, the 2nd Vice-Chairman of the CDA, Mr. Adekunle Adeyemo praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for prioritizing rural electrification and acknowledged Dr. Agbaje’s role in ensuring that the community would receive the much-needed transformer.

Residents expressed their appreciation for the government’s commitment and looked forward to the installation of the transformer, which they believe will enhance economic activities and overall living conditions in the area.
