The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, has announced that the much-anticipated Ota-Ona Mini Market will soon be commissioned for public use.
Hon. Adesina made this disclosure during an interview with Ikorodu News Network (INN) on March 3, 2025, at his council office, where he provided updates on ongoing projects within the local government.
According to the chairman, once the market is officially commissioned, individuals who have already made payments will be allocated their spaces, while the process for assigning vacant slots will follow shortly after.
The Ota Ona Mini Market is expected to boost local commerce by providing a structured environment for traders, enhancing economic activities, and improving the business landscape in Ikorodu Local Government.
In addition to the market update, Hon. Adesina revealed that his educational development project at Africa Bethel Primary School, located directly opposite the market, has reached the roofing stage and is also nearing completion.
The decision to construct an additional classroom block in the school stemmed from a need assessment conducted in 2024, aimed at enhancing public school infrastructure and expanding access to quality education.
The project aligns with the chairman’s broader vision to integrate computer-assisted learning into public schools across Ikorodu.
With both the Ota Ona Mini Market and the Africa Bethel Primary School project advancing towards completion, the chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, economic empowerment, and improved educational facilities within the local government.
These projects, once commissioned, are expected to positively impact local traders, students, and the broader Ikorodu community.
