LG ELECTIONS 2025: LAGOS ASSEMBLY DELEGATES PRAISE IKORODU LG’s READINESS ~ INN Nigeria ☆

A delegation from the Lagos State House of Assembly visited Ikorodu Local Government on March 6, 2025, to evaluate its readiness for the upcoming Local Government Elections in Lagos State.

The delegation, led by Hon. Oladipo Ajomole, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, Petitions, Human Rights, and LASIEC-Commissioner Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, carried out an extensive inspection to evaluate the council’s level of readiness.

Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, along with senior council officials and stakeholders, received the delegates during their visit.

The inspection covered logistical arrangements, voter education efforts, security coordination, and overall administrative readiness to ensure a smooth electoral process.

Hon. Wasiu Adesina welcomed the delegation and expressed the council’s commitment to working in line with the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) guidelines to facilitate a transparent, inclusive, and peaceful election.

He emphasized the council’s efforts in sensitizing residents about the elections and ensuring all necessary preparations were in place.

“We are committed to upholding the integrity of the electoral process in Ikorodu Local Government.”

“Our administration has taken deliberate steps to ensure adequate preparation, from security arrangements to logistical support, for a seamless and credible election,” Adesina stated.

He further assured the delegation that all necessary infrastructure and resources would be deployed to guarantee a smooth voting process, encouraging stakeholders to support the efforts towards a violence-free election.

After a thorough inspection, Hon. Oladipo Ajomole expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness demonstrated by the council.

He commended Hon. Wasiu Adesina for his proactive leadership and administrative efficiency, noting that the local government’s readiness was a positive indication of a successful election.

“We are pleased with what we have seen today. The efforts of the council under the leadership of Hon. Wasiu Adesina reflects strong administrative capacity and a deep commitment to ensuring a credible electoral process.”

“This is exactly what we expect from all local governments across Lagos State,” Ajomole remarked.

He also reiterated the Lagos State Government’s commitment to conducting transparent elections, warning against any acts of electoral malpractice or violence.

“The Lagos State Government is committed to upholding democracy, and we will not tolerate any form of election irregularities. We urge all political actors and residents of Ikorodu to cooperate and ensure a peaceful and credible election,” he added.

The visit underscores the Lagos State House of Assembly’s oversight role in strengthening local governance and promoting electoral transparency.

Hon. Ajomole assured that similar assessments would be conducted across all Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state to ensure uniform preparedness.

Hon. Wasiu Adesina thanked the Lagos State House of Assembly for its visit and reiterated his administration’s commitment to working closely with LASIEC and relevant stakeholders to ensure the electoral process in Ikorodu LG is conducted in a fair, transparent, and peaceful manner.

The delegation concluded the visit with an inspection tour of key election-related facilities, expressing satisfaction with the progress made so far while highlighting areas for further improvement before the elections.
