As the world marks International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, has extended heartfelt wishes to all women in rural communities across Lagos State.
In his message, Dr. Agbaje commended the resilience, dedication, and unwavering contributions of women in rural areas, acknowledging their pivotal role in building strong families, societies, and nations.
He emphasized that the strength of a community is deeply rooted in the sacrifices and hard work of women, particularly in rural settings, where they serve as caregivers, farmers, traders, and nurturers of future generations.
“On this special occasion of International Women’s Day, I celebrate all the women in our rural communities who work tirelessly to support their families and contribute to the progress of Lagos State. Your strength, resilience, and commitment remain the backbone of our society.”
“I urge you to continue playing your invaluable roles in your families, as the stability and success of any nation begin with a solid family foundation,” he said.
Dr. Agbaje reiterated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to empowering women in rural areas through various development initiatives, including improved access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.
He assured that the state government remains steadfast in implementing policies that uplift and support women, ensuring they have the resources to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
