SENATOR TOKUNBO ABIRU’S  ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE DRIVE: KEY ROADS COMPLETED, MORE UNDERWAY ~ INN Nigeria ☆

In a bid to improve road infrastructure across Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of several critical roads, addressing long-standing infrastructural challenges and enhancing economic activities for residents.

These interventions complement the ongoing 32-kilometer Ikorodu-Itokin Road reconstruction, a major project aimed at connecting multiple towns and communities within the district.

Among the notable roads under construction are: Dagbolu Road (Majidun) – 1.2 km; Agunfoye Road (Igbogbo) – 1.2 km; Ojokoro Road (Agric, Ikorodu West LCDA) – 1.2 km; Ibu-Owo Road; and Jalajugbo Road.

These roads, currently in various stages of completion, will significantly reduce travel time, ease transportation challenges, and improve access for motorists, traders, and commuters.

Upon completion, they will not only enhance mobility but also stimulate economic activities, allowing businesses to thrive and improve property values in the affected communities.

Additionally, some roads have already been successfully completed and delivered for public use, including: Ojediran Street; Alhaji Andu/Shokoya Roads.

These projects are part of a broader infrastructural strategy championed by Senator Abiru to address road deficits, improve connectivity, and support local economies.

As part of his continued efforts, Senator Abiru has earmarked additional roads for construction and rehabilitation. The next phase of projects will focus on: Apena Jimbo Road; Nurudeen Owolabi Road and GRA 2 Road.

These roads have been identified as critical to easing transportation difficulties within the district.

Once rehabilitated, they will further enhance movement for residents and businesses, contributing to the overall development of the Lagos East Senatorial District.

During recent community engagements with residents of Ojokoro and Dagbolu, members of Senator Abiru’s team, led by his Media Aide, Mr. Enitan Olukotun met with community stakeholders, road users, and business owners to discuss the impact of these road projects.

Residents expressed appreciation for the senator’s commitment to infrastructural development, noting that the road projects have already begun to improve accessibility and reduce transportation difficulties in their areas.

Many highlighted how the initiative has boosted local businesses, eased logistics, and increased property values.

A community leader from Majidun, Alhaji Rahman Yusuf, commended Senator Abiru for his proactive approach.

“For years, we struggled with bad roads that made movement difficult, especially during the rainy season.”

“Now, with the ongoing construction of Dagbolu Road, things are improving. We are grateful to the senator for keeping his promises.”

Similarly, Mrs. Funmilayo Adekunle, a trader in Igbogbo, noted how the rehabilitation of Agunfoye Road has positively impacted her business.

“Before now, customers found it difficult to access my shop because of the poor road network.”

“But now, there is a huge difference, and we can see the work in progress. We appreciate Senator Abiru’s efforts.”

Senator Abiru’s infrastructural development initiatives extend beyond road construction.

Over the years, he has championed multiple projects aimed at improving education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and digital innovation.

His contributions include: Facilitation of school renovations and construction of new classrooms; Provision of medical supplies, ambulances, and healthcare facility upgrades; Installation of electricity transformers to enhance power supply.

Development of markets and sports facilities; and Establishment of youth and community centres.

One of his most notable personal projects is the SAIL Innovation Lab, an initiative designed to equip young people with digital and entrepreneurial skills.

Located in Ikorodu and Ibeju-Lekki, the lab has empowered thousands of youths with knowledge in technology, coding, and business development, positioning them for success in the modern economy.
